Summary:
On August 26, 2013, City Council approved the Orlando-Partnership for School Success (O-PASS) to hire twenty (20) AmeriCorps members by entering in a Grant Agreement with the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) via Volunteer Florida. On May 18, 2015, City Council approved hiring an additional sixty-five (65) AmeriCorps members to create an academic advocacy and counseling program targeted at high school juniors and seniors residing in Orlando’s lowest income neighborhoods. The City entered a second Grant Agreement with CNCS via Volunteer Florida.
The CNCS Grant Agreements require the City to provide specified insurance benefits for the AmeriCorps volunteers. There are two (2) insurance providers that offer the specified AmeriCorps volunteer insurance benefits; BCS Insurance administered by ASRM, LLC and CIGNA Insurance administered by Ascension Benefits & Insurance Solutions.

The Procurement and Contracts Division and the Families, Parks, and Recreation Department have evaluated these quotes and recommend award to the lowest, responsive and responsible quoter, ASRM, LLC of Moorestown, New Jersey, for the purchase of The Corps Network Volunteer Insurance Benefits in the estimated annual amount of $128,040.00.

Recommended Action:
Approval of award to ASRM, LLC and authorize the Chief Procurement Officer to enter into Purchase Order Agreements throughout the term of Grant Agreements with ASRM, LLC as indicated above in the estimated annual amount of $128,040.00, subject to review and approval by the City Attorney’s Office. |
