Summary:

The changes to the Orlando City Code set forth in the attached Ordinance are part of an overall revision of the City Code to identify sections that have become obsolete, are unnecessarily duplicative of federal or state law, or which need modifications to better reflect current practices and technologies.

This Ordinance is a revision intended to provide less specificity in member background requirements to ensure a broader candidate pool, to provide an opportunity for members to serve more than two terms, and to clarify the role of the Finance Committee as an advisory board in reviewing the effectiveness of financial policies and strategies.
Fiscal & Efficiency Data: No fiscal impact.
Recommended Action:

Adoption of the attached Ordinance number 2015-62 as drafted and authorization for the Mayor and City Clerk to execute the same upon adoption and review by the City Attorney.
