FY 2015-2016 HUD-Housing Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding agreement between the City of Orlando and BETA Center, Inc.

Summary:

On July 27, 2015, City Council approved, as part of the FY 2015 Annual Action Plan, a request from BETA Center, Inc. for CDBG funding in the amount of $25,000.  BETA Center, Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides transitional housing for homeless teens and young mothers up to the age of 21 and their children.  BETA Center, Inc. will use this funding to provide supportive parent training services and case management for approximately twenty-five (25) low- and moderate - income young women who are either pregnant or parenting minor children (ages 0-4) and who reside in BETA’s transitional shelter located at 4680 Lake Underhill Road, Orlando, Fl, 32807


Fiscal & Efficiency Data: FY2015 HUD – Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding for this project was approved on 07/27/2015 as part of the Annual Action Plan.

Recommended Action:
Approve and authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute the agreement with BETA Center, Inc. in the amount of $25,000 after review of the documents by the City Attorney's office and Grants Development Supervisor.
