Ordinance No. 2015-50 amending Land Development Code Chapter 65, Part 1B “Board of Zoning Adjustment” to clarify board voting procedures. (Economic Development)
Summary:

The attached ordinance amends Land Development Code Chapter 65, Part 1B “Board of Zoning Adjustment” to clarify voting procedures for the Board of Zoning Adjustment (BZA).  The code amendment will change the BZA quorum from a majority of those present to a majority of those present and voting.  This revision matches the quorum procedures for other City boards.

The Municipal Planning Board recommended approval of the LDC amendment on September 15, 2015 (LDC2015-00303).  The adoption ordinance will be scheduled for the next available City Council meeting.

Recommended Action:

Approve the attached ordinance number 2015-50 on first reading and request that the Mayor and City Clerk present the draft ordinance for second reading and public hearing at the next City Council Meeting.
