Employment Contract with Ian Jurgensen as a Sustainability Project Manager with the Solid Waste Division
Summary:
In an effort to implement the Orlando Green Works Community Action Plan, approved by Council in August 2013, the Solid Waste Division and Green Works Orlando will jointly fund a Sustainability Project Manager position with a two year employment agreement.  This position will expand the Solid Waste Division's capacity to implement green initiatives like commercial food waste collection, alternative fuel vehicles and assist in developing more comprehensive community agriculture and tree planting efforts.  To this end, the City has recruited Mr. Ian Jurgensen after a national search.
Fiscal & Efficiency Data: Funding exists in the current Solid Waste Fund budget. See attached Fiscal Impact Statement.
Recommended Action:
Authorize the Mayor or Mayor Pro Tem and City Clerk to the employment agreement with Mr Ian Jurgensen, subject to the review and approval of the City Attorney's office.
