Amendment Two to Mears Motor Leasing Agreement for Lease of Sixty-Six (66) Vehicles, IFB14-0172

Summary:

On March 31, 2014, City Council authorized the Chief Procurement Officer to enter into an Agreement with Mears Motor Leasing to lease sixty-six (66) vehicles. On February 23, 2015, City Council authorized the Chief Procurement Officer to amend the Agreement to add twelve (12) vehicles for the Police Airport Division.

The Police Department and Fleet & Facilities Management Division are now requesting to lease an additional fourteen (14) vehicles to be used by the Police Department. These vehicles will replace currently owned vehicles at the end of their useful life.

With this amendment, a total of ninety-two (92) vehicle leases will be included on the contract.  Each vehicle is for a lease term of two (2) years. The estimated  two year expenditure for the fourteen (14) additional vehicles is $189,840.00.

No City-Certified M/WBE suppliers responded to the bid.

Recommended Action:

Approval and authorization for the Chief Procurement Officer to negotiate and execute Amendment Two with Mears Motor Leasing in the estimated amount of $189,840.00, as indicated above. The final negotiated amendment will be subject to review and approval by the City Attorney’s Office.
