Summary:

The contract with Owens, Renz & Lee Company, Inc. for Orlando Venues Janitorial Services expires on August 31, 2015.  Orlando Venues is requesting approval to extend the current contract for an additional ten (10) month period.

The sports season starts each year in October and runs through June.  The contract extension will align the new contract award to the off-peak season which will be beneficial to minimize any disruption of service, allow for the proper amount of time for training and transitioning to a possible new contractor. 

To maintain the highest level of service, Orlando Venues is requesting to extend the current contract with Owens, Renz & Lee Company, Inc. to June 30, 2016. The estimated expenditure for the extension is $2,500,000.00.

Owens, Rentz & Lee Company, Inc. will continue with the current combined 30% M/WBE Participation Plan during the extension period.

Recommended Action:

Approval and authorization for the Chief Procurement Officer to negotiate and execute a contract amendment with Owens, Renz & Lee Company, Inc., as indicated above. The final negotiated contract amendment will be subject to review and approval by the City Attorney’s Office.
