The project will consist of the modernization of five (5) traction elevators and building related work for City Hall of Orlando.
The Procurement and Contracts Division and Facilities Department have evaluated these bids and recommend award to the lowest, responsive and responsible bidder, Kone, Inc. of Orlando, Florida, for the City Hall Elevator Modernization, project in the amount of $1,127,572.50.
The bid was reviewed by the M/WBE office for compliance with the program. The M/WBE Office has waived the goals for this project, due to the specialized scope, and license/certification required for all personnel working on any vertical transportation. It is the prime contractor's responsibility to perform a large portion of this project, therefore a very limited scope of work available to sub contract. |
Recommended Action:
Approval of award to Kone, Inc., and authorize the Chief Procurement Officer to enter into an agreement with Kone, Inc., as indicated above in the amount of $1,127,572.50 subject to review and approval by the City Attorney’s Office. |
