Ordinance No. 2015-38 annexing and assigning the future land use designation of Residential Low Intensity for property located north of Curry Ford Road, east and south of Camellia Garden Drive, and west of Colton Drive (6933 Curry Ford Road/Big Dog Driving Range). (Economic Development)
Summary:

The attached ordinance will annex property at 6933 Curry Ford Road as well as assign the Residential Low Intensity future land use designation.  The property is located north of Curry Ford Road, east and south of Camellia Garden Drive, and west of Colton Drive and is approximately 44.74 acres.  The annexation is being requested in order to develop a single family development.  The subject property is contiguous to the City limits and is reasonably compact.  If annexed, the property will not create an enclave.

The Municipal Planning Board recommended approval of the annexation (ANX2015-00006), the GMP amendment to assign Residential Low Intensity future land use designation (GMP2015-00008) on April 21, 2015.  The planned development zoning request has not been submitted.  The applicant proposes to develop a single family subdivision.

The adoption ordinance for the annexation and GMP will be scheduled following the review by the Florida Department of Economic Development – Community Planning Division.

Recommended Action:
Approve the attached ordinance number 2015-38 on first reading and request that the Mayor and City Clerk present the draft ordinance for second reading and public hearing at a future City Council meeting after review by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity.
