Summary:
On June 2, 2014 City Council approved an agreement with H. J. High Construction Company to design the new Orlando Police Department (OPD) Headquarters building. H. J. High is completing the design phase and is ready to begin early site construction work.
Approval is now requested for the early site construction work Agreement in the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) amount of $3,189,000.00. H. J. High will begin with an early work construction package for the Headquarters site located at South Street and Orange Blossom Trail (Permit #ENG2015-00465) that includes demolition, earthwork and building pad preparation. Roof replacement is also included in this scope for the existing Crime Scene Facility located on the Southeast corner of Herndon Airport. The facility is utilized by OPD Crime Scene Investigation, Property and Evidence and Police Training.
H. J. High achieved 37% MWBE participation during the design phase. They are committed to achieving the City’s goal of 18% MBE and 6% WBE for the overall project. |
Recommended Action:
Approve the agreement with H. J. High Construction Company in the amount not to exceed $3,189,000.00 and authorize execution of the agreement by the Chief Procurement Officer, subject to approval by the City Attorney’s Office. |
