The Housing Review Committee (HRC) is responsible for providing recommendations to the City Council on the selection of housing development projects to be funded with State Housing Initiative Partnership (SHIP) and HOME Program funds throughout the year. The HRC is comprised of representatives from City Planning, Urban Design, OPD, Permitting Services, Real Estate Management, Code Enforcement, Orange County Housing Finance Authority, the Orlando Housing Authority, the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee, the CDBG Review Committee, and the Municipal Planning Board.
At their meeting on May 4, 2015 the HRC voted to recommend approval of a funding request from Orlando Neighborhood Improvement Corporation (ONIC) for HOME funds in the amount of $695,000 to rehabilitate 27 units at Anvil-Richard Allen Gardens. ONIC will contribute $80,000 towards this rehabilitation.
A recommendation to approve the actions of the Housing Review Committee will be presented at a future Council meeting.
