Summary:
The Office of Community Affairs and Human Relations manages the Mayor's Matching Grant (MMG) Program. The MMG Program awards grants bi-annually to City of Orlando non-profit organizations, neighborhood organizations and schools. Neighborhood organizations are awarded grants in increments of $500 to $5,000 for neighborhood improvement projects that enhance education, culture, public safety or physical improvements, while addressing neighborhood needs and building community pride. Tax-exempt 501(c)3 non-profit organizations and schools are awarded grants in increments of $1,000 to $10,000 and are encouraged to partner with neighborhood organizations and community partners to offer programs that engage our City's youth in constructive, adult-supervised activities during non-school hours. These grants support youth educational enhancement and fulfill the recommendations of the Safe Orlando Task Force by fostering youth crime prevention and anti-violence. The Office of Community Affairs and Human Relations provides grant applications, workshops, technical assistance, monitoring and oversight. Nineteen (19) eligible organizations, which successfully met grant requirements, are recommended to receive Mayor's Matching Grants. |
