| | | | | | | | | Subject: | FY2015 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Local Program Application - Radios. | | Summary: | The Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) is a formula grant that provides funding for local initiatives, technical assistance, training, personnel, equipment, supplies, contractual support and information systems to support law enforcement programs. The City of Orlando Police Department (OPD) has been allocated $169,717 for FY 2015. OPD plans to use this grant to replace approximately 31 portable radios that are due for replacement. The State of Florida Department of Management Services in their Public Safety Radio Communications Plan recommends replacement of radios after 6 years.
