Subject:FY2015-16 Application for Continuation of STOP Funding-Law Enforcement
Summary:
The Orlando Police Department is a past recipient of a Services, Training, Officers and Prosecutors (STOP) Violence Against Women formula grant awarded through the Florida Coalition against Domestic Violence (FCADV) Intimate Violence Enhanced Service Team (InVEST) program.

If awarded, this grant of up to $114,737 will continue funding for a dedicated OPD domestic violence detective. OPD and Harbor House are parties to an existing MOU and have a working relationship that focuses on addressing domestic violence within our community in a manner that seeks to reduce the number of domestic violence related homicides. Application and award under this program will permit that relationship to continue.

Fiscal and Efficiency Data:FIS not required at this time.
Recommended Action:Approval by City Council and execution by the Mayor of the FY 2015-2016 Grant Application for Continuation of STOP Funding-Law Enforcement subject to review by the City Attorney's Office and the Grants Development Supervisor.
