Ordinance No. 2014-51 Of The City Council Of The City Of Orlando, Florida, Amending Article I, Chapter 50 Of The Code Of The City Of Orlando, Florida, Entitled "Public Service Companies" By Amending Sections 50.01 And 50.05 To Clarify The Intent, And Deleting In Its Entirety And Reserving For Future Use Article II, Chapter 50 Of The Code Of The City Of Orlando, Florida, Entitled "Railroads" As It Is Duplicative Of Federal And State Law.

Summary:
The changes to the Orlando City Code set forth in the attached ordinance are part of an overall revision of the City Code to identify sections that have become obsolete, are unnecessarily duplicative of federal or state law, or which need modifications to better reflect current practices and technologies.

The attached ordinance amends Code Chapter 50, dealing with "Public Service Companies" to clarify intent in sections 50.01 and 50.05, and deleting Article II of  Code Chapter 50 dealing with "Railroads" as it is unnecessarily duplicative of federal and state law.

Fiscal & Efficiency Data: No Fiscal Impact

Recommended Action:
Adopt the attached ordinance number 2014-51 and authorize the Mayor and City Clerk or Mayor Pro Tempore and City Clerk to execute on behalf of the City upon final review and approval by the City Attorney.
