Summary:
The City and the Florida Department of Transportation propose to enter into a Local Agency Program agreement that grants authority to the City to construct the Colonial Drive Pedestrian Overpass and provides for funding from the United States Department of Transportation. With this Agreement, the City is securing $9,190,531 in Federal funds to design and construct the Colonial Pedestrian Overpass.
The project consists of the design and construction of a pedestrian overpass over West Colonial Drive (SR 50), over a portion of I-4 Right of Way, and the Central Florida Rail Corridor, including approach ramps and pedestrian trails. This project will provide connectivity to Gertrude’s Walk and the Dinky Line (Orlando Urban Trail). The project length is approximately 0.35 miles. |

LAP FY 2015-2016 Florida Department of Transportation LAP Agreement FN 434915-1-58-01 and 434915-1-68-01. The City Project Number is TSP0036_P Colonial Overpass. Matching funds are not required for this grant. The Fiscal Impact Statement is attached.

Recommended Action:
Authorize the Mayor or Mayor Pro Tem, and the City Clerk to approve and execute the Local Agency Program agreement subject to review and approval by the City Attorney's Office and as required by FDOT. Authorize the Public Works Director to execute the project resolution, subject to review and approval by the City Attorney's Office and as required by FDOT. |
