Summary:
The City entered into an agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation to receive reimbursement of Federal Surface Transportation Funds for the upgrading and installation of miscellaneous sidewalks throughout the City through a Local Agency Program agreement. The Orlando Walks sidewalk program will construct approximately 22.5 miles of sidewalk throughout the City. The project has an assigned City Project Manager and a City Construction Manager. Projects of this type, working in neighborhoods, can create some situations that are difficult and contentious with our residents. For this reason, Public Works requires the services of an Engineering Project Coordinator to meet with neighborhoods and individual property owners to insure the project goes as smoothly as possible.
Public Works is seeking the assistance of Mrs. Tamara Reynolds to fulfill the role of Engineering Project Coordinator because of her specific City knowledge as well as her extensive background in public relations. The attached Employment Agreement begins May 1, 2015 and terminates on April 30, 2017. Her role in this project will be part time at an hourly rate of $28.36. |

Recommended Action:
Recommend approval of the Employment Agreement with Mrs. Tamara Reynolds as Engineering Project Coordinator. Authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute the employment agreement subject to the review and approval of the City Attorney's Office. |
