Summary:
A grant of $600,000 is requested to support the efforts of OPD and the Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation (MBI) as part of the Greater Orlando Human Trafficking Task Force. Grant funding will support a crime analyst, equipment, overtime for investigations, as well as travel and training costs to enhance the identification of victims, and investigation and prosecution of human trafficking cases. OPD will collaborate with the Howard Phillips Center for Children & Families Children’s Advocacy Center and other community partners to implement this program. The University of Central Florida will provide evaluation services.

Recommended Action:
Approval of the Application by City Council for the FY 2015 Enhanced Collaborative Model to Combat Human Trafficking Competitive Solicitation, subject to review and approval by the City Attorney's Office and the Grant's Development Division. |
