Summary:
The City of Orlando Historic Preservation Annual Award program recognizes property owners who have taken an active role in preserving and protecting the integrity of the City’s historic districts through appropriate additions and renovations to existing historic structures and compatible new construction within historic districts.
The 2015 Historic Preservation Award recipients are as follows:
1. Outstanding Commercial Project - 1400 Sligh Blvd, The Amtrak Station- District 4
2. Outstanding Residential Project-721 Delaney Avenue- District 4
3. Outstanding Residential Project- 206 E. Amelia Street- District 4
4. Centennial Building Commemorative Award - 615 E. Livingston Street- District 4
The awards will be presented as follows:
1. Mayor Dyer will introduce Richard Forbes, Historic Preservation Officer.
2. Mr. Forbes will give a brief presentation regarding National Historic Preservation Month and present images of the award winning buildings.
3. Mayor Dyer and Commissioner Sheehan will then present an Award Certificate to each award recipient.
4. Photos will be taken.
5. Mayor Dyer will thank everyone who nominated projects and for their time and contributions in recognizing the importance of Historic Preservation to the City of Orlando. |
