| | | | | | | | | Subject: | Memorandum of Understanding between City of Orlando and Microsoft | | Summary: | Under this Agreement, Microsoft will partner with the City of Orlando by offering the following programs (at no charge to the City) that support City initiatives:
1. DigiGirlz Day, a technology program targeting middle and high school girls who attend FPR recreation centers and City partner organizations. DigiGirlz is a full day event during which participants have the opportunity to learn about careers in technology, connect with Microsoft employees, and participate in hands-on computer and technology workshops.
2. Free access to Microsoft's BizSpark and DreamSpark Programs. BizSpark assists early stage start-ups by providing free mentorship, guidance and technology/software resources, and DreamSpark Provides provides free developer and designer tools for students at schools and other academic institutions. | | Fiscal and Efficiency Data: | No fiscal impact. | | Recommended Action: | Authorizing the City of Orlando to sign the Memorandum of Understanding with Microsoft. | | Contact: | Lisa Early |
