Petition for Voluntary Annexation: 1860 Oglesby Avenue (ANX2015-00002)

Summary:

Attached is a petition for the voluntary annexation for 1860 Oglesby Avenue.  The subject property is located at 1860 Oglesby Ave, which is west of Clay St, east of Formosa Ave and south of Oglesby Ave and is approximately 0.323 acres.  The subject site currently has the unincorporated Orange County future land use designation of Commercial and is zoned R-2.

The applicant is requesting the City’s future land use designation of Residential Low Intensity and associated zoning of R-2A.

Annexation is being requested in order to construct two residential duplexes.  The subject property is contiguous to the City limits and is reasonably compact.  If annexed, the property will not create an enclave.

Fiscal & Efficiency Data:

The fiscal impact statement will be submitted with the ordinance for annexation, pending City Council’s acceptance of this petition for annexation.

Recommended Action:

Direct the City Attorney to prepare an annexation ordinance for consideration by City Council and authorize staff to initiate a Growth Management Plan (GMP) amendment and initial zoning for the subject property.
