Subject:Employment Agreement with Gregory Sharp as Construction Inspector I with the Capital Improvements & Infrastructure Development Division
Summary:The Capital Improvements & Infrastructure Development Division is responsible for providing construction management and inspection services for City infrastructure projects. Current full time staff members are fully committed to projects already under construction. An additional $15 million worth of upcoming construction projects will require staffing for inspection services on a short term (2 year) basis. Public Works received authorization to create additional City contract Construction Inspector positions in lieu of using more costly outside consultants. Mr. Sharp will fill one Construction Inspector position. These positions are included and funded in the FY 2015 and FY 2016 budgets as full-time, contract positions. This agreement is for a two-year period, beginning on or about February 24, 2015 and ending on or about February 23, 2017.
Fiscal and Efficiency Data:Cost is budgeted in Cost Center CIP0004_C , Capital Improvements & Infrastructure Development Division.
Recommended Action:Authorize the Mayor to execute the subject agreement with Gregory Sharp, Construction Inspector I as noted above and subject to review and approval of the City Attorney's Office.
