Summary:

The City of Orlando requests approval of a Right-of-Way abandonment for portions of Parramore Ave. and Pine St., in preparation for development of a new Major League Soccer stadium.

The +/- 1.22-acre subject property consists of Parramore Ave. between Church St. and Central Blvd. and a 266 ft. segment of Pine St. east of Parramore Ave.  

In addition to the PD and Abandonment requests, this project will require a Future Land Use map amendment to assign the Public-Recreational-Institutional designation onto the entire property.

The Municipal Planning Board recommended approval of the Abandonment request at its December 16, 2014 meeting.

Recommended Action:
Approve the attached ordinance number 2015-2 on first reading and request that the Mayor and City Clerk present the draft ordinance for second reading and public hearing at the next regular City Council meeting.
