| | | | | | | | Subject: | Amendment #2 to Lease with Freedom Ride, Inc. | Summary: | In 2006, The City and Freedom Ride entered into a lease agreement for 10 acres of property at Trotters Park, where Freedom Ride offers a therapeutic riding program to disabled children and adults. The lease expires August 30, 2016. This amendment extends the term of the lease to August 31, 2019 and deletes the requirement that Freedom Ride offer a specific number of lessons during the year. It also deletes references to a former tenant that offered a riding program adjacent to this property. The amendment allows Freedom Ride to use some additional land adjacent to their leased premises that includes a lighted arena. Freedom Ride agrees to maintain this additional land and pay all utility costs and the City can terminate the lease of this additional land with 60 days notice. | Fiscal and Efficiency Data: | None. | Recommended Action: | Approval and authorization for the Mayor/Pro Tem and City Clerk to execute Amendment Two, substantially in the form attached, subject to review and approval by the City Attorney's Office. | Contact: | Laurie Botts |
