Ordinance No. 2014-64 Amending Chapter 55 of the Code of the City of Orlando, entitled “Regulation of Taxicabs, Limousines, Luxury Passenger Vehicles, Shuttles and Other Vehicles for Hire,” to provide for the operation of vehicles arranged through transportation network companies or by other electronic means, and setting related requirements
Summary:
This ordinance amends Chapter 55 to create a new category of vehicle for hire, titled "Livery Vehicle," providing a minimum fare of 125% of the established taxicab fare or the set hourly minimum for this category, applying existing vehicle safety, driver's permit requirements, insurance and other requirements, and making other changes relative to the addition of this new category of vehicle which can operate as part of a transportation network company.

Recommended Action:
Adopt the attached ordinance number 2014-64 and authorize the Major and City Clerk or Major Pro Tempore and City Clerk to execute on behalf of the City upon final review and approval by the City Attorney.
