Summary:
The advisory council of the Downtown South Neighborhood Improvement District met on Wednesday, November 12, 2014. The advisory council recommended approval of business terms to merge with the Downtown South Main Street to hire an Executive Director that will manage the activities of the District (secure and manage grants, seek improvements, administer the activities of the advisory council, etc).
Specifically, the advisory council recommended that the Board of Directors:
- Approve the business terms of the merger DSNID/Downtown South Main Street Executive Director (attached).
- Authorize the Chair to negotiate, finalize and execute the agreement with the Downtown South Main Street (in a form subject to final review by the City Attorney's office).
- Authorize chair Rex McPherson to participate with Charlotte Manley, president of the Downtown South Main Street, in the search and hire of a potential Executive Director.
Pauline Eaton of the City's Business Development Division (Main Street Program Coordinator) will also supervise the hiring process, in accordance with the agreement between the City and Downtown South Main Street.
Also at this meeting, the advisory council approved the amendment of the Safe Neighborhood Improvement Plan (SNIP) to reflect the updated boundaries of the District, and authorize staff and City Council to initiate Growth Management Plan amendments to refer to the SNIP and reflect the revised boundaries. |
