Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program (FRDAP) Grant

Summary:
The Families, Parks and Recreation Department is applying for a Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program (FRDAP) grant for Phase I of Lake Fairview Park renovation.  The maximum grant award is $200,000 with a 1:1 match.  The match funding is budgeted in cost center PKS0004_P.  Phase I of the work will open the lake frontage up to the public and convert the overgrown shoreline into a playground and picnic area for residents' enjoyment.  Work will include the demolition of the existing bathhouse building and the construction of picnic shelters, playground, drinking fountain, restroom, sand volleyball, irrigation and landscaping.  Families, Parks and Recreation staff is collaborating with the rowing organizations housed at the park to ensure that the renovation process and park design accommodate their needs, and they are supportive of this project.
