Summary:
On October 25, 2004, City Council approved the lease of a facility located along I-4 to Health Care Center for the Homeless, Inc., (HCCH) for the operation of its residential health care center which provides care to homeless persons who cannot stay in regular shelters due to health conditions. When I-4 was expanded in 2004, FDOT acquired the City’s facility and funded the acquisition and renovation of a new City owned facility for the relocation of HCCH. The new facility is located in Orange County at 1518 37th Street.
The City and HCCH desire to extend the term of the Lease and create additional options to renew, all as set forth in the attached Amendment. The Lease term shall be extended for a period of five (5) years through October 31, 2019 and thereafter may be renewed for up to five (5) additional terms of one (1) year each. Rent of $1.00 per year and all other terms and conditions of the Lease shall remain the same. |

Recommended Action:
Approval and authorization for the Mayor/Pro Tem and City Clerk to execute the Amendment substantially in the form attached, and approval and authorization, without further City Council approval, for the Real Estate Division Manager to execute the additional renewal options referenced herein, so long as such approvals are in conformance with the terms and conditions of the Lease, all subject to the review and approval of the City Attorney's Office. |
