Ratification of Financial Assistance Agreement Between FDLE & OPD

Summary:
The Financial Assistance Agreement between the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and the Orlando Police Department is a multi-agency voluntary cooperation mutual aid agreement that establishes the terms and conditions by which participating agencies facilitate and provide technical assistance and equipment in criminal investigations in Florida.  This Agreement provides for the reimbursement of costs to OPD for participation in investigative operations or related training, including overtime, vehicles, fuel for personnel, and provide personnel with necessary training.

Recommended Action:
Ratification by City Council of the Agreement between FDLE and OPD regarding reimbursement of costs to OPD for participation in the Multi-Agency Voluntary Cooperation Mutual Aid Agreement (MAA), and approval for execution by the Chief of Police, subject to review by the City Attorney's Office and the Grants Development Supervisor.
