A. Variance of 6 ft. to allow a 24 ft. wide driveway, where a maximum 18 ft. wide driveway is allowed for single-family residential homes.

B. Variance of 5% to allow a 45% front yard impervious surface coverage, where a maximum 40% coverage is allowed.

14775 Fells Ln. (±0.20 acres) (southeast corner of Fells Ln. and Honey Crisp Ln., north of Pummelo Dr.)

Variance of 6 ft. to allow a 24 ft. wide driveway, where a maximum 18 ft. wide driveway is allowed for single-family residential homes.

At the September 29, 2014 City Council meeting, Commissioner Gray asked that these two (2) cases be deferred in order to have time to determine if other options might be available to address the issue of driveway widths.. Staff further investigated and have concluded that there are no other options, other than amending the requirements of the Land Development Code. Commissioner Gray has since requested that the BZA minutes for the two (2) subject cases be placed back on the agenda, accepting the recommendations of the BZA of denial of the variance requests for both cases.

Recommended Action:
Accept the meeting minutes and approve the actions of the Board of Zoning Adjustment for the Meeting of August 26, 2014, recommending denial of variances under Case No. VAR2014-00075 (14838 Fells Ln.) and Case No.VAR2014-00076 (14775 Fells Ln.).
