Subject:Ordinance No. 2014-42 Amending the Growth Management Plan to Designate Certain Land Generally Located North of W. Princeton St., East of Edgewater Dr., and South and West of W. Smith St. (+/-1.97 acres) as Community Activity Center; Further Amending the Growth Management Plan to Create Subarea Policy S.4.7, on a +/-3.43 Acre Block Bound by W. Princeton St., Edgewater Dr., and W. Smith St. (Economic Development)
Summary:

The attached ordinance will:

   (i) Amend the Growth Management Plan (GMP)  by changing the future land use designation from Residential Low Intensity and Office Low Intensity to Community Activity Center on a portion of The Princeton at College Park Planned Development (PD) site generally located north of W. Princeton St., east of Edgewater Dr., and south and west of W. Smith St.(+/-1.97 acres; GMP2014-00011);  and,

    ii) Create Future Land Use Subarea Policy S.4.7 to establish development standards and address future development on a block bound by W. Princeton St., Edgewater  Dr., And W. Smith St. (+/-3.43 acres; GMP2014-00012). 

The Municipal Planning Board (MPB) recommended approval of the GMP amendments (Case #GMP2014-00011 and GMP2014-00012) and associated Planned Development (PD) amendment (Case #ZON2014-00013) on June 17, 2014.  City Council accepted these minutes on July 14, 2014. The purpose of the GMP amendments is to allow an up to 226 unit, multi-story, multifamily complex.  

On September 15, 2014, City Council voted to continue first reading of the subject ordinance to the September 29, 2014 council meeting.  The Princeton at College Park PD amendment will be part of a separate ordinance.
