Ordinance No. 2014-44 annexing and assigning the future land use designation of Airport Support Medium Intensity for property located north of Lee Vista Road on the east side of Narcoossee Road (6621 Narcoossee Road). (Economic Development)
Summary:

The attached ordinance will annex property at 6621 Narcoossee Road as well as assign the Airport Support District Medium Intensity future land use designation.  The property is located north of Lee Vista Road on the east side of Narcoossee Road and is approximately 4.091 acres.  The annexation is being requested in order to develop a non-residential development of up to 44,550 sq. ft.  The subject property is contiguous to the City limits and is reasonably compact.  If annexed, the property will not create an enclave.

The Municipal Planning Board recommended approval of the annexation (ANX2014-00010), the GMP amendment to assign Airport Support District Medium Intensity future land use designation (GMP2014-00015) and the initial zoning of PD/AN (ZON2014-00016) on July 15, 2014. 

The adoption ordinance for the annexation and GMP is scheduled for October 20, 2014. The PD zoning ordinance (Ordinance No. 2014-45) will be included as a separate item on the same City Council Agenda.

Recommended Action:
Approve the attached ordinance number 2014-44 on first reading and request that the Mayor and City Clerk present the draft ordinance for second reading and public hearing at the next City Council Meeting.
