Use of the Houston-Galveston Area Council Contract with Chastang's Bayou City Autocar for the Purchase of Five (5) Autocar/Heil Front End Loader Refuse Trucks, C14-0384
Summary:
The Fleet Management Division, Solid Waste Management Division and Procurement and Contracts Division are requesting to utilize Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) cooperative purchasing contract #HT06-14 with Chastang's Bayou City Autocar of Houston, Texas, for the purchase of five (5) 2015 Autocar ACX64 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) cab and chassis trucks with Heil Half/Pack front end loader refuse bodies at a total cost of $1,718,415.00, in accordance with the previously approved standardization of Heil refuse bodies for the City's Solid Waste Management fleet.
 
These Hybrid refuse trucks will replace five (5) conventional front end loader refuse trucks currently in service that are scheduled for replacement. 
 
Kenworth of Central Florida, Orlando FL, will facilitate the order and delivery of these refuse trucks, with issuance of a Purchase Order to Chastang's Bayou City Autocar.
 
No City Certified M/WBE suppliers are registered for this commodity.

Recommended Action:
Authorize the Chief Procurement Officer to issue a Purchase Order to Chastang's Bayou City Autocar as indicated above, in the estimated amount of $1,718,415.00.
