Revised SunRail Voluntary Cooperation Mutual Aid Agreement

Summary:
The original SunRail Voluntary Cooperation Mutual Aid Agreement was approved by City Council on May 12, 2014.  This mutual aid agreement has been revised.  In addition to each of the law enforcement agencies located along the SunRail line being allowed to request and render voluntary cooperation and assistance of a routine law enforcement nature across jurisdictional lines, the agencies shall be allowed to take action for a "crime of violence against another person." 

Fiscal & Efficiency Data: No costs, however, each agency is required to bear their own expenses.

Recommended Action:
Approval of the revised Mutual Aid Agreement and authorization for execution of the Agreement by the Mayor or Mayor Pro Tem and Chief of Police, subject to review by the City Attorney's Office.
