| | | | | | | | | Subject: | Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Grant to Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA) for Rehabilitation of Taxiways at Orlando Executive Airport | | Summary: | On July 30, 2014, GOAA submitted a grant application to the FAA to fund four separate contracts in an anticipated grant amount of $2,563,713 for Rehabilitation of Taxiways - Phase 1 (Construction) at Orlando Executive Airport. GOAA has requested that the City, as the grant sponsor on behalf of GOAA, pre-accept the grant with pre-authorization for the Mayor and City Clerk to sign the grant and related grant documents. Such pre-acceptance and pre-authorization will allow for the grant to be executed immediately upon receipt from the FAA and within the time frame required for acceptance. Due to the schedules for City Council and GIOAA Board meetings, and the limited time authorized for funding of grants at the end of the fiscal year of the Federal government, it is necessary to pre-accept the grant to avoid the potential to lose the funding.
