Pig Floyd’s Smokehouse, LLC (Pig Floyd’s) plans to open a new, fresh casual BBQ concept restaurant at 1326 North Mills Avenue. Pig Floyd’s will serve traditional southern BBQ as well as Latin inspired dishes. The project consists of a complete interior renovation including new plumbing, electrical, HVAC system, flooring, restrooms and kitchen equipment. Pig Floyd’s plans to create 5 new full-time jobs through this project. Total capital investment for this project (interior and exterior work) is approximately $550,000. Pig Floyd’s is located in the Mills 50 Main Street district.
The business has requested assistance through the City of Orlando's Business Assistance Program. The Business Assistance Program (BAP) is a matching grant program that was approved by the Orlando City Council on June 18, 2001 to encourage small businesses to locate, expand or redevelop in the City of Orlando. The Business Assistance Program assists with small-scale infrastructure projects, building permitting fees and impact fees. The BAP pays fifty percent of eligible fees. The maximum amount granted under the program guidelines is $20,000.
Total eligible fees for Pig Floyd’s under the Business Assistance Program, are $12,640.93. The BAP will pay fifty percent of eligible fees ($6,320.47). The fee breakdown is as follows: Sewer Benefit Fee @ 50% = $3,440.85, Transportation Impact Fee @ 50% = $2,879.62.
