Summary:

The attached ordinance will amend the Growth Management Plan by changing the future land use designation from Community Activity Center to Industrial for approximately 3 acres located at the Northeast Corner of S. Kirkman Road and the Florida Turnpike.

The Municipal Planning Board recommended approval of the GMP amendment (Case #GMP2014-00008) and associated PD amendment (Case #ZON2014-00001) on April 15, 2014.  These amendments will allow for an indoor gun range and retail gun store.

The PD amendment will be part of a separate ordinance.

Recommended Action:
Approve the attached ordinance number 2014-22 on first reading and request that the Mayor and City Clerk present the draft ordinance for second reading and public hearing at the next regular City Council meeting.
