Summary:
The Community Redevelopment Agency’s (“CRA”) Community Redevelopment Plan (“Plan”) for the Downtown Orlando Community Redevelopment Area (“Area”) notes the importance of educational institutions to the health of a community and the particular importance of educational institutions within the Area. The Plan also states the CRA’s desire to cultivate the development of educational assets within the Area. For these reasons, the Plan contemplates and allows for the CRA’s dedication of assets and funding towards educational purposes and institutions within the Area. Section 163.400, Florida Statutes, also encourages cooperation between public bodies for the purpose of carrying out redevelopment. Pursuant to such section, the CRA, by the attached deed (“Deed”), is conveying property to the City to be used solely for public school and school related uses in fulfillment of the above stated goals of the Plan.
