FY 2014 Application for Solving Cold Cases with DNA Grant

Summary:
The Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), National Institute of Justice (NIJ) provides grants to assist law enforcement agencies in investigating and solving cold homicide cases through DNA.  Grant funds, if awarded, will be used to offset overtime, travel and DNA processing by an independent lab.  There are several special conditions which apply to OPD and other City Departments, each of which we are able to meet.

Fiscal & Efficiency Data: To be supplied upon award of grant.

Recommended Action:
Approval by the City Council and execution of the application documents by the Mayor, subject to review and approval by the City Attorney's Office and the Grants Development Supervisor.
