Subject:FY 2014 Application for U.S. DOJ Justice Information Sharing Solutions Implementation Program Grant
Summary:
 
 
The Justice Information Sharing Solutions Implementation Program is designed to assist state, local and tribal jurisdictions in reducing crime and improving the function of the criminal justice system through more effective information sharing, multi-agency collaboration, and implementation of data-driven, evidence-based strategies.
 
OPD partners with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies through the Joint Homicide Investigative Team (JHIT) and at the local fusion center, the Central Florida Intelligence Exchange (CFIX). OPD will use the grant funding to address the data analytics priority area through the implementation of a social media monitoring tool.  The grant funded social media monitoring tool will enhance information sharing, crime analysis, and data analysis improving the crime fighting capabilities of OPD and partner agencies.

To be supplied upon award of grant.
 
 
 
 
Recommended Action:Approval by City Council of the Application for the FY 2014 Justice Information Sharing Solutions Implementation Program Grant, subject to review and approval by the City Attorney's Office and the Grants Developer Supervisor.
