A Grant from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection for a Recreational Trail at Park of the Americas

Summary:
On March 26, 2013, the Secretary of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection approved the Department's recommendation to award a $75,000 grant to the City of Orlando for the development of the Park of the Americas Recreational Trail under the Recreational Trails Program Fiscal Year 2013-2014. The  project includes a 12' wide paved trail, outdoor exercise equipment and trail site amenities. The total cost of these improvements is $150,000, with $75,000 coming in the form of the State Grant and the remaining City's $75,000 match coming from the Park of the Americas project budget.

Recommended Action:
Approval of the attached Project Agreement and authorize the Mayor or Mayor Pro Tem to execute same, subject to review and approval of form and legality by the City Attorney Office and the Grants Development Supervisor.
