Subject:Ordinance No. 2013-78 annexing property generally located at the northeast corner of the intersection of State Road 417 and Moss Park Road (Picerne-Moss Park). (Economic Development)
Summary:

The attached ordinance will annex property generally located at the northeast corner of the intersection of State Road 417 and Moss Park Road, approximately 16.13 acres (Picerne-Moss Park). The property is currently undeveloped and is planned for multifamily development.

The petition for annexation was heard at the September 23, 2013 meeting. The Municipal Planning Board recommended approval of the annexation (ANX2013-00009) the GMP amendment to assign Residential Medium Intensity future land use designation and Subarea Policy S.40.3 (GMP2013-00022) and the initial zoning of R3-B to allow for up to 338 multi-family units (ZON2013-00023) on October 15, 2013. The subarea policy was amended thereafter and approved by the City Council on November 25, 2013. The first readings of the annexation ordinance and the GMP amendment (Ordinance #2013- 67 ) were on December 16, 2013. The second reading of the GMP amendment is included as a separate item on this City Council Agenda.

Recommended Action:

Adopt the attached ordinance number 2013-78, and authorize the Mayor and City Clerk or Mayor Pro Tempore and City Clerk to execute on behalf of the City upon final review and approval by the City Attorney.
