Employment Contract with Braden Kay as a Sustainability Project Manager with the Solid Waste Division and Green Works Orlando
Summary:
In an effort to implement several of the community-oriented programs contained in the Orlando Green Works Community Action Plan that Council approved in August 2013, the Solid Waste Division and Green Works Orlando will jointly fund a Sustainability Project Manager position with a two year employment agreement. This position will expand the Solid Waste Division's commercial recycling program, which should actually lead to cost reductions, and assist in developing more comprehensive community agriculture and tree planting efforts. To this end, staff has enlisted the assistance of Mr. Braden Kay, PhD, after a national search.

Recommended Action:
Authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute the Employment Agreement with Mr. Braden Kay, subject to the review and approval of the City Attorney's Office.
