The attached ordinance will rename Weller Blvd. to Nemours Pkwy. The applicant is Heather Isaacs, with Tavistock Development, on behalf of Narcoossee Land Holding Two, LLC.

Weller Blvd. exists as a varying 45- to 60-ft. wide roadway within an 85-ft. wide right-of-way (R-O-W), on the west side of Narcoossee Rd. north of Lake Nona High School and south of Valencia College. Originally, Weller Blvd. was to have been extended west and south, behind Lake Nona High School, but in 2016, the applicant opted to extend Nemours Parkway to the east and north where Weller Blvd. was to have been. The street name change will facilitate Nemours Parkway connecting to Narcoossee Rd., which was envisioned within the Lake Nona Development of Regional Impact and Lake Nona Planned Development.

Both Orange County Public Schools and Valencia College provided letters of “no objection” to the proposed street name change. The Municipal Planning Board recommended approval of the Street Name Change on December 19, 2017, and the City Council approved those MPB minutes at the January 8, 2018 City Council meeting.

Approve the attached Ordinance No. 2018-5 on first reading and request that the Mayor and City Clerk present the draft ordinance for second reading and public hearing at the next regular City Council meeting.
