Attached is a petition for the voluntary annexation for 1401 E. Michigan Street.  The subject property is generally located north of E. Michigan Street, east of S. Brown Street and south of E. Crystal Lake Avenue, addressed at 1401 E. Michigan Street and is approximately 0.679 acres.  The subject site currently has the unincorporated Orange County future land use designation of Commercial (C) and is zoned R-2.

The applicant is requesting the City’s future land use designations of Residential Low Intensity and Mixed Use Corridor Medium Intensity (GMP2016-00007) and initial zoning of R-2A/T and MU-1/T (ZON2016-00007) for the future development of four duplexes.  The subject property is contiguous to the City limits and is reasonably compact.  If annexed, the property will not create an enclave.

Direct the City Attorney to prepare an annexation ordinance for consideration by City Council and authorize staff to initiate a Growth Management Plan (GMP) amendment and initial zoning for the subject property.
