Summary:
The Orlando Magic request approval of a 2-yr temporary use permit to display banners on several buildings in downtown Orlando. As detailed in the request letter (attached), the banners would be displayed during two 30-day periods each year: ahead of the start of the NBA season and before/during the NBA playoffs in the event the Magic participate (with the option for an administrative extension for the playoff installation, should the Magic participation in the playoffs extend beyond the 30-day timeframe).
Also attached are photos showing the 12 possible locations and identifying the size and location of the banner that could be placed on each of those buildings. As noted in the request letter, the Magic would be able to install banners at the start of the NBA season on up to six locations and for the playoffs on up to 10 locations.
Prior to each installation period, the Magic will be required to submit color renderings of the sign copy and locations of the proposed installations. This approval would also allow sponsorship information to be displayed on a maximum 20% of the area of each banner. As with all banners, a building permit will be required before installation.
