On March 28, 2011, City Council approved the award of the subject contract with Sweetwater Environmental Services, Inc., to provide hauling, land application or reuse of wastewater residuals.  The current contract expires March 31, 2016.

Wastewater Division is requesting approval to extend the subject contract with Sweetwater Environmental Services, Inc. for an additional five (5) months.  The extension is requested to allow sufficient time to identify requirements, select a new supplier and allow for a smooth transition to the new contract.  Sweetwater Environmental Services, Inc., has agreed to extend the contract at the existing rates and charges.  The estimated expenditure for the extension is $550,000.00. 

Authorize the Chief Procurement Officer to execute an Amendment  to extend the contract with Sweetwater Environmental Services, Inc., of Sebring, FL, as indicated above, subject to review and approval by the City Attorney’s Office.
