Summary:
The United States Department of Transportation has issued a Notice of Funding Opportunity for "Beyond Traffic: The Smart City Challenge". The winning city would receive up to fifty million dollars ($50,000,000.00) in funding for certain transportation initiatives. The purpose of the Smart City Challenge is to demonstrate and evaluate a holistic, integrated approach to improving surface transportation performance and integrating this approach with public safety, public services and energy. The attached Resolution confirms the City's commitment to Smart City initiatives and support for the Application for the Smart City Challenge. The application deadline is February 4, 2016. |
