Summary:
At its February 23, 2015 meeting, the Orlando City Council approved an Agreement with the Orlando Repertory Theatre ("the REP") to offer an intensive arts residency program, during the period March - May, 2015, for youth who attend afterschool programs at specified City recreation centers. The program successfully culminated in showcase performances in the REP's Universal Theatre in late May 2015.
The attached Agreement will allow the REP to operate its Second Annual Rockin’ REP Fest, in collaboration with the Families, Parks and Recreation Department, utilizing the same model as in 2015, during the period February 1-April 15, 2016. Participating centers will be College Park Community Center, Reeves Terrace Recreation Site, John H. Jackson Community Center, and Citrus Square Recreation Site. At the end of the program, participants will showcase what they have learned with a performance at the REP’s Universal Theatre on Friday April 15, 2016.
The REP will provide all teaching artists and supplies for the program. If any incidental program costs are incurred by the City, they will be covered via the participating centers’ existing afterschool program budgets. |
