Summary:
Orange County Public Schools (OCPS) operates a Community-Based Vocational Education Program (CBVE) that aims to prepare Exceptional Education Students for future paid employment. The program works in partnership with employers, whereby students are deployed to partner worksites, where they receive vocational training via weekly assignments, under the supervision of OCPS staff, and supported by staff of the host employer.
By approving this Agreement, the City of Orlando's Families, Parks and Recreation Department will serve as a host worksite for Exceptional Education Students participating in the OCPS CBVE Program. The students will be deployed to Recreation Division worksites, where they will obtain training in skills needed for positions with the City's field maintenance crews and at the Orlando Tennis Centre.
As part of the Agreement, OCPS will provide a teacher to supervise the students throughout their participation in the program, as well as transportation of students to and from their designated Recreation training sites.
Participants will be required to sign the City’s standard waiver and release form, copies of which are attached, holding the City harmless.
